If you are keen to volunteer with Yellow Ribbon Community Project (YRCP), please kindly fill up the YRCP Volunteer Application Form.
For other volunteer schemes, you may volunteer as an individual (applicable to the Volunteer Case Officer scheme only) to support community reintegration work, or through any of the Social Service Agencies (SSAs) or organisations currently partnering with SPS to provide befriending and rehabilitation programmes. To apply, please refer to the SPS Volunteering Opportunities form to indicate your interest in volunteering.
All applications will be processed, and SPS will update you on your application status. All new volunteers will attend onboarding training before commencing their volunteering journey. SPS also provides various developmental trainings and courses to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge for working with inmates and ex-offenders.

Most roles involve regular engagement (e.g. monthly), with a preferred commitment of at least one year to meaningfully impact the lives of the inmates or supervisees you engage.

Yes. Volunteer safety is a top priority. You will receive training on how to engage inmates safely, with clear protocols and support from SPS officers during sessions.

Application outcomes are typically shared within 2 months. Successful applicants will attend onboarding training before starting their volunteering journey.

All new volunteers undergo basic onboarding to understand the prison environment and safety protocols. Additional training is provided to equip volunteers with skills to engage inmates confidently and appropriately.

• No prior experience is required for most roles. What matters most is your empathy, commitment, and willingness to learn – training will be provided to prepare you.
• Applicants applying to be academic tutors should preferably be current / former MOE teachers or experienced private tutors.
• Applicants applying to be VCOs should have educational qualifications in a related field (i.e., Counselling, Social Work or Psychology), or experience working with inmates /ex-offenders.
