Visit Items
Find out what items you can bring to an inmate during a visit, including reading materials, food, clothing, and other approved items.
Reading Materials
Reading materials in Singapore’s four official languages, English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil are accepted. Reading materials in other languages are subject to approval.
All reading materials are subject to screening before they are issued to the inmates.
If a reading material is not approved during screening, the visitor will be notified via SMS to collect it from Prison Link Centre (Changi). The reading material must be collected within six months from the date of the initial SMS notification otherwise they will be discarded.
Please note that books with hardened cover will be rejected.

Food Items
Visitors may purchase pre-approved snack packs for eligible inmates at any of the five Prison Link Centers. Payment can be made via NETS. Visitors may purchase these snack packs for the following categories of inmates during each visit:
Remand inmates – may receive one snack pack through visits per week.
Inmates undergoing the Drug Rehabilitation Regime.
Inmates undergoing the Inhalant Abuse Regime.
Handover Pre-Release Clothing
Visitors may provide one set of clothing including footwear for an inmate to wear on the day of release. The clothing may be handed over at the specified visit registration counter during their scheduled visit between two weeks and two months before the release date.

Other Items
For other items, such as spectacles, dentures, photographs and medications, inmates have to submit a request through their institutions. The requests are subject to approval before visitors are allowed to hand over the items during the visit sessions. Items that have not been approved will not be accepted.
Spectacles must meet the following requirements:
Lenses: Plastic lenses only
Frames: Plain, black, plastic and opaque
Only 4R size photographs are allowed. Approved visitors should hand over photographs through the approved visit process. Do not send photographs by mail, as photographs received by mail will be discarded.
Payment of Items Required by Inmates
For items that inmates are required to make payments, such as spectacles and dentures, they must submit a request first through the institutions.
The requests are subject to approval before the visitors are allowed to make payment via NETS or PayNow at any of the five Prison Link Centres.
