Prison News Feb 2026

4 March 2026

Highlights and updates on Singapore Prison Service rehabilitation efforts, staff initiatives, community partnerships, and institutional developments.

2025 was a year of growth, connection and meaningful milestones, and this edition recaps some of these special moments. Witness the power of music as our inmates discovered their voices at the Yellow Ribbon Songwriting Competition, and uncover how the artistic creations of inmates and desistors reached into Singapore's heartlands during the Yellow Ribbon Community Arts Festival. At the Volunteer Awards Ceremony, SPS celebrated a record-breaking 651 volunteers whose unwavering dedication continues to transform lives, and alongside our partners, we commemorated the 25th Anniversary of the CARE Network – a testament to our successful aftercare efforts over the years!

At the heart of it all are our Captains of Lives (COLs). Relive the heartwarming moments that brought loved ones together at SPS Family Day, and discover how SPS’ coach-like culture empowers COLs to unlock their potential. Finally, we take you behind the scenes of our growing global footprint, from sharing SPS’ unique throughcare approach at the Criminal Justice Forum for Asia and the Pacific in Japan, to welcoming valuable partners from the Korea Correctional Service for an enriching bilateral exchange of knowledge and best practices.

As we step into 2026, SPS remains steadfast in our mission -- ensuring the safe and secure custody of inmates whilst rehabilitating them for a safer Singapore. We will continue investing in our Captains of Lives and expanding our global partnerships to advance corrections worldwide. Here's to a fruitful 2026 ahead!
